[The following is from "The Best of Gay DC," an insert in the November 8, 2002 issue of The Washington Blade.] Rosendall honored in Blade's "best of gay DC"
Committed Activist: Male
Rick Rosendall is a pain in the ass. And that's just the way he likes it. Through years of work with the Gay & Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, including a stint as president, Rosendall has been a thorn in the side of public officials, other activists, HIV/AIDS agencies, newspaper reporters and editors, and countless others -- some times Rosendall is on their case for doing the wrong thing, sometimes just because they did the right thing differently than Rosendall would have. The Rosendall school of activism isn't about winning friends or popularity contests. It's about results; it's about our rights. No slouch upstairs, Rosendall can be counted on to make an intelligent argument, whatever the topic; and he doesn't countenance fools, from either end of the ideological spectrum. Like him or not, and you probably don't, Rosendall is an effective activist, and isn't that what it's all about?
