DC Fun CX series
Status: currently on hold, seeking new venue
At our second Ft. Reno fun race, a Park Policeman informed us that we would
need to obtain a permit for any future events, but did not tell us to leave.
Unfortunately, it was the determination of the Rock Creek Park
Superintendent that biking should not be allowed at Fort Reno, so no permit
was obtained
So, the DC practice race series is currently suspended as we consider other
options...
cheers,
marc
What it is - an informal cyclocross race in NW DC- not an official or
sanctioned event.
Date: Cancelled
Place: East side of Ft Reno Park -
a couple blocks north of the corner of Wisconsin Ave
and Nebraska Ave NW
clickable map: http://tinyurl.com/u2z6
Time: 10am for orientation/ pre-ride/warmup
45 minute 'fun' race will start at 10:30
The course will be marked out, and will contain a mix of grass, gravel
paths, pavement, run-ups and a few barriers to hurdle.
Riders of all abilities welcome, but expect to be able to ride on and off-road
(mostly grass) and hop off your bike a couple times per lap- however there
won't be any singletrack or need for serious mountain biking skills.
feel free to email with any questions or forward to other potential 'crossers.
