Painting is continuously challenging. Putting a visual image
of a three-dimensional object or person onto a two-dimensional surface,
while still communicating what I want to communicate, keeps me excited by my work.

or hair or eyelash
cloud or
fold
reduced to
planes and
tints and sunny side
shadows and
color

that hint of the rest of what

they hold,
like life and movement
and love and friendship
and delight
in movement
and color on the eye and
music in the bird and
shadows in the bright of day.
