Introduction
Lathemaster is a program designed to create pottery-style objects for use
in rendering programs. The program was designed with Bryce in mind, but
feel free to try it with the program of your choice. What Lathemaster does
is convert your object into a greyscale (black-and-white) picture. Many
leading ray tracing packages can take this kind of picture and use it as
a height map for terrains. If you are unsure as to how to import height
maps, check the manual for your raytracer, it shouldn't be difficult.
This manual should serve as a good introduction to Lathemaster, but
the best way to learn it is to experiment with it. Try out the program,
and see what works for you!
