The Friendly Inn, established in 1978, is located in a century old building at 11074 Frederick Rd., Ellicott City Md. 21042 While this is the official address, to its friends it is better known as the The Friendly Inn of West Friendship.

Gisela Woelper has been the owner and operator of The Friendly Inn for the last twenty eight years. She has managed, even though urban sprawl has over taken the area, to maintain the bar's rural atmosphere and as a patron of blue grass music, she has made bluegrass a weekly tradition. She has over these many years hosted a number of talented local bands such as Windy Ridge, Blue Daze and Line Drive and many more. Most nights to a standing room only Bluegrass crowd.

Recently Saturday night has been added to our Bluegrass band schedule, so now you can enjoy eight or more bands a month.

In addition to our bluegrass band nights, we have Open Mic night every Thursday and Casual picking (an afternoon jam session) every Sunday. Check out the Music page for details. Drop by and enjoy Bluegrass at its best, have a beverage of your choice and try something from our lite-fair menu. There is never a cover charge and there is plenty of parking on the premises
